Junie B. Jones Smells Something Fishy is the twelfth book in the Junie B. Jones series.

Frustrated because the rules for her class's Pet Day will not let her take her dog to school, Junie B. considers taking a raccoon, a worm, a dead fish, and other unusual replacements.

  • This book is slightly foreshadowed in Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business, when Junie B. considers bringing her baby brother Ollie in as a "pet" on Pet Day.
  • Mrs. somehow knows that Junie B. Jones has a dog although she does not tell her.
  • Lucille is the only one to bring in a picture, bringing in a picture of her horse and wearing equestrian clothing.
